Before the final payroll is processed for the year, take the time to review and audit pertinent payroll information such as;
A new W-4 will be released for 2020; however, the final version is not approved yet. A draft of the form can be reviewed at 2020 W-4 Draft. Until the final version is released, continue using the current version. Once released, the new form should be used for any new hires and changes. A revised I-9 Form was expected this year, but it has not been released yet. The most current version of the I-9 Form is 7/17/17 and this form can be used until the new form is finalized. Employers with 6 or more employees in the Dallas City limits or that work in the City of Dallas at least 80 hours a year are required to follow the Dallas Paid Sick Leave Ordinance. The Ordinance was effective 8/1/2019, but penalties won’t be issued until April 1, 2020. Although lawsuits have been filed challenging the Ordinance, it is still in effect and we can help you develop a new policy to meet the Ordinance guidelines.
