Before the final payroll is processed for the year, take the time to review and audit pertinent payroll information such as;
  • Has all 2019 income been included?
  • Complete year-end 401(k) Audits such as Contribution and Match limits as well as Match calculations
  • If Group Life Insurance is offered in amounts greater than $50,000 for employees and $2,000 for dependents, has the taxable income been included in the employee’s pay?
  • Are there any Social Security number issues where corrections are needed?
  • Send an email to employees requesting them to verify their Social Security Number and home address is correct
  • Review Sick Leave or Vacation time (PTO) for employees if necessary
  • It is always a good practice to run final year-end reports after the last payroll of the year.
For a year-end checklist, contact us at [email protected]

A new W-4 will be released for 2020; however, the final version is not approved yet.  A draft of the form can be reviewed at 2020 W-4 Draft.  Until the final version is released, continue using the current version.  Once released, the new form should be used for any new hires and changes.  A revised I-9 Form was expected this year, but it has not been released yet. The most current version of the I-9 Form is 7/17/17 and this form can be used until the new form is finalized. For the most current forms, go to (Our Internet Site)

Employers with 6 or more employees in the Dallas City limits or that work in the City of Dallas at least 80 hours a year are required to follow the Dallas Paid Sick Leave Ordinance.  The Ordinance was effective 8/1/2019, but penalties won’t be issued until April 1, 2020. Although lawsuits have been filed challenging the Ordinance, it is still in effect and we can help you develop a new policy to meet the Ordinance guidelines. To review your policies and ensure compliance, contact us at [email protected]
